iTunes App Store Reviews

"I have had the pleasure to speak with the creator of this app, and have listened to him present at the ASCA Conference in 2013. His eclecticism between science and performance is impeccable, but sport analysis apps are always scary. This app is both user friendly and relevant to aspects everyday coaches analyze. Personally, I utilize this app for my professional swimmers at Streamline Elite, as well as with our college team. It has helped my swimmers understand and conceptualize difficult aspects of the sport, and in turn, made them better athletes. I recommend this app to swimmers and coaches, alike."

"The swimhero program is a tremendous coaching tool! The ease of this program makes it a fun learning device for both the coach and swimmer. I can definitely recommend this to any coach out in the swimming community. Also, their support team is very easy to work with and will answer any question you might have. Thank you swimhero."

"A great way to analyze and compare races. As a mom of three swimmers we have lots of videos, so now our kids can stamp their swims and see where were improvements were made or need to be. Easy to use and exciting to see results."

"This app is an amazing tool for helping swimmers better understand what they are doing in the water. It is easy to use, and a great way for swimmers to be introduced to watching film. Stamping the video is an opportunity for the swimmer to be involved in the process. As a parent of a swimmer, I am always filming my son's meets. Now, we do more than just watch those videos later. He stamps his own videos and looks at the data. I was pleased with his interest in watching, stamping, and learning about his swims. There is a learning curve with this app, but it is easy to master and worth the effort."

The SwimHero app will bring analytics to the sport of swimming on an individual and team wide basis...Ray Looze - Head Swimming Coach, Indiana University

The SwimHero app will bring analytics to the sport of swimming on an individual and team wide basis. It is fast, easy to use, and accessible to a wide audience.  Fundamentals will be profoundly impacted in a positive way for any swimmer or coach who wish to improve.  For example, this app covers basic aspects of stroke count, breakout times, and distance per stroke just to name a few important areas that can be enhanced using this product.  This will be installed on all our ipads we hand out to our swimmers  beginning freshmen year

Swim Hero is the most functionally appropriate app for a swim coach of any level... Chris O’Linger - Streamline Aquatics Elite Team

Swim Hero is the most functionally appropriate app for a swim coach of any level. It can give great focus
to technical and strategic aspects of racing for coaches with little to no physiological background, and
can also be used by coaches of the highest level and pedigree of education. I use Swim Hero with our
Division I NCAA Team – University of the Incarnate Word, and with my postgraduate/professional team
– Streamline Elite. How I employ the app varies between teams, groups, and individuals, but Swim Hero
is applicable to nearly any specific athlete.

With UIW, we use the app to focus much more on actual racing strategy, where we select initial holes
we observe and review during midseason meets and rest opportunities. Another psychological
advantage of possessing and utilizing the app is that it sparks kids’ interests in development, and
involves them in a continuous process. Plus, the app can also apply to strategic references in comparison
to a competitor performance, defining and giving reason to the outcome of the performance. Let’s face
it. Many times, the object of collegiate swimming is to win, and this app allows us another weapon in
the field of battle.

Streamline Elite uses the app in several more variations of performance evaluation. This group have
reached a top-end speed where fractions of a second decided a few of our swimmer’s fates this season
in regards to qualifying for their National Rosters. We have had several National Championships, and are
looking to expand on that each season with these guys. Along with typical evaluations, I utilize Swim
Hero consistently during training and performance practices, as well. Our butterfliers and backstrokers
are always wanting to compare their underwater kick velocities in tempo in their competition suits on
several occasions to maintain a legal breakout. Our breaststroker likes to analyze his breakouts and his
timing between movements to be certain they correlate with the highest velocity. In fact, many times,
we have done repeated 25s and 50s and incorporated in review in between swims. Other apps we had
used would never allow this timely procedure. Lastly, I would just like to add that the main thing we
have used Swim Hero for this past month during taper plans is to analyze form and consistency during
anaerobic threshold sets and performances. The maintenance of speed is critical, and nobody will be
swimming proper if adjustments are not made to the stroke emphases during the first and last 50m of a
200 or 400m race.

Anyway, we have different “variables” we measure for each person, and are certainly established among
groups. Different types of athletes call for different approaches. Swim Hero allows us to give visual and
verbal feedback in an extremely quick manner. The turnaround between filming and video and data
output could be 1-2 minutes once familiarized. I highly recommend this app to any coaches who are
looking to integrate a learning culture within their team. If all goes well, a team should become very
task-oriented quickly. They will also have reason to believe things that you say! Our kids love it! Our pros
love it! We love it as coaches, as well. All-around quality product!

It is by far the best use of video we have seen in our sport! Andy Pedersen - Aquatics Director/Head Coach

The SwimHero software will be an indispensable tool for use with our athletes. We found great benefits with race analysis in the past but SwimHero RA takes this to a new level with features we have only imagined. Our athletes have truly had those ‘lightbulb’ moments when they are able to have the power of video integrated with relevant numbers from their actual performances. It is by far the best use of video we have seen in our sport!

Every piece of data given the swimmer will impact learning and performance...Bob Steele - Master Coach/Consultant

Since the SwimHero race analysis system has been available to use this month, i’ve shown it to about 100 swimming coaches in camps and clinics.  The coaches are really excited about the information it provides and the fact that “stamping” the races may be done conveniently, any-time after competing.  Every piece of data given the swimmer will impact learning and performance.  Using it “makes” them students of the sport, which is essential to improvement.  Since race analysis isn’t very available at meets it enables the coach to have and use race components to teach and design training plans focused on improving; starts, turns, finishes, tempo, streamlining, and most importantly, underwater work.

“attention and level of expectation determines swimmer success and yours” and swimhero helps the coach do both for a win win situation.

It helps swim coaches to educate swimmers, regardless of their learning style...Alex Nikitin - Head Swim Coach

SwimHero brings together the better of two worlds in one package: video feedback that is backed up by the essential race measurements. This approach appeals to swimmers of both visual or analytical thought processes. It helps swim coaches to educate swimmers, regardless of their learning style, who want to improve their racing performance.
